Would you like to know how to do Tai Chi?  Join Chao Shang Chou for this two-part course.  Chao is a Tai Chi practitioner for the past 25 years and she is enthusiastic about sharing her experience with others who’re interested in finding out about Tai Chi.  Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese practice that brings vitality, agility, and serenity.  You will learn the Basic Principles of Tai Chi, first working on mental preparedness:  body awareness and spinal alignment, centredness, rootedness, Yin and Yang (equal and oppositeness); and the feeling of “gentle, soft, slow, go with the flow with no fighting or struggling”.  We will then practice basic exercises: holding a ball, weight shifting, slow walking, opening and closing, and more.  No experience or equipment is necessary, but wear loose, comfortable clothing.  Have a space to move a little, and have an object to hold (e.g., a ball).  Also have a sturdy chair nearby if you need it for balance.

Register to attend and to receive the Zoom link. Kits with instructions will be provided.  Arrangements for pickup of kits will be made by email a week before Part 1.
